The recent acquisition of moshtix by Ticketmaster firmly places OzTix as Australia’s largest independent ticketing company.
As the Brisbane-based company travels into a chapter of new found growth, OzTix founder and director Stuart Field announced a number of new hires, clients and an acquisition.
They include general manager Steve Tassone, who comes from the financial services industry.
“It’s hard to describe the excitement I feel about Oztix and its immense potential,” Tassone says.
“Ticketmaster’s recent acquisition of moshtix means that Oztix is now Australia’s premier independent ticketing company.
“We see this as a huge opportunity for growth and I look forward to preparing the business for further expansion and scale.”
Jim Cunningham, who comes from a decade in the ticketing, events and venue industry, joins as national operations manager responsible for the customer service, client services and event services.
Dave McCarthy is its new digital campaign specialist and Amy Gates (ex-Rolling Stone Australia) steps in as NSW and ACT business development manager.
Oztix started the year adding Street Machine Summernats Car Festival, Complete Events Group and Newcastle music venue The Cambridge Hotel to its client roster.
Cambridge Hotel owner Greg Mathew reveals, “Oztix was the obvious ticketing partner for the Cambridge Hotel.
“We wanted an Australian based, trustworthy and reliable company, offering great service, a killer ticketing platform with all of the latest and greatest marketing offerings which was going to sell more tickets for us – that’s Oztix.”
Other clients include Good Things, Festival of the Sun, Party in the Paddock, Grapevine; lifestyle clients such as the Caravan and Camping Show and Sydney International Boat Show; major venues including ALH Group, Eatons Hill Hotel, The Triffid, Prince Bandroom, The Croxton, Manning Bar, The Gov, Amplifier Capital Group, Fremantle Arts Centre and the Sydney International Art Series at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA).
Oztix also announced this morning it recently purchased PleezPay, an event technology platform providing ticketing and fundraising services to event organisers and charities in the sports and general admission markets.
PleezPay has been operating in the Australian market for six years.
“The experience, marketing expertise, and security of Oztix is a real positive for the continuing growth of PleezPay,” says the platform’s commercial manager Simon Docherty.
